Meet the Artist.
Welcome! I’m Sophie Slotnik and I am currently exploring AP 2D Art and Design. Growing up in Dallas, I’ve always been immersed in the world of art, and it’s become my way of expressing what I see, feel, and imagine.
I love experimenting with a variety of mediums, from painting to color pencil, and everything in between. Each medium offers something unique, and I’m drawn to the endless possibilities they provide. My work often features bold color choices and abstract forms, with a focus on creating dynamic compositions that evoke movement, energy, and emotion. Every piece I create is an opportunity to push my boundaries, learn, and grow.

My Portfolio
My work embraces the theatrics of camp, where exaggeration, surrealism, and unexpected comparisons collide to challenge traditional placements, proportions, and belonging. Through bold compositions, oversized objects, and the playful distortion of everyday objects, the artwork transforms the familiar into something absurd and thought provoking. Each piece throughout this series asks the viewer to reconsider what fits where, what belongs and what happens when norms are disrupted.
